Workshop on the Border Carbon Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)

Our Partner ACICAE-Basque Automotive Cluster of Euskadi and Deloitte are organising a conference on a topic of great relevance for the sector, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).

Within the European Union’s commitments to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, the need to transform policies related to carbon emissions has been highlighted. As part of this approach, the European Commission has proposed significant changes to the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), with the aim of moving towards a more sustainable, low-carbon economy.

These changes have direct repercussions on key sectors such as the automotive sector, which is facing new challenges in terms of raw material imports and exports. In this sense, it is essential to understand and address the impact that these regulations will have on the entire value chain of the sector.

In particular, the relevance of the CBAM regulations has been identified within the Decarbonisation and Energy Efficiency Working Group that ACICAE has been promoting in collaboration with the Energy Cluster.

The main objective of the conference is to provide information on the regulations and explore strategies to mitigate the possible economic impacts on companies.
