Last Thursday, we officially inaugurated the new Catena-X Competence Center, a pioneering initiative designed to support automotive companies in their digital transformation journey and facilitate their integration into the emerging Internet of Data.
Promoted by AIC – Automotive Intelligence Center and Innovalia Association, the center is the first of its kind worldwide. It is located at AIC’s facilities in Amorebieta-Etxano, where it provides a dedicated environment for the development, testing, and validation of solutions based on industrial data spaces.
The new center aims to become a trusted, neutral, and open reference point for the automotive sector by offering companies a simplified gateway to the Catena-X ecosystem. Catena-X is an international initiative focused on enhancing the competitiveness of the automotive industry through the adoption of trusted digital solutions and standardized data-sharing frameworks.
This initiative will enable suppliers and technology companies to collaborate closely with automotive manufacturers in the development of Catena-X-based solutions and in the implementation of a common methodology for secure and interoperable data exchange.
Furthermore, the center is designed to accelerate the deployment of digital solutions and the development of applications capable of sharing information securely and efficiently at an unprecedented scale across the automotive industry. In doing so, it facilitates companies’ access to the new digital infrastructure enabled by Catena-X.
The initiative is fully aligned with the vision of AIC Phase 5 and AIC District, reinforcing strategic areas such as industrial data spaces, interoperability, and data sovereignty—key pillars for advanced mobility and the emerging industrial digital economy.
